Mattel, the renowned toy maker, is gearing up to launch the latest installment of its Hot Wheels NFT Garage Series on May 22, based on the Fast & Furious film franchise.
The collection is called Hot Wheels NFT Garage x Fast & Furious. It features iconic vehicles from the films, such as Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger, Brian O’Conner’s 1969 Camero and Suki’s Honda S2000 from the franchiseβs second installment,”2 Fast 2 Furious.”
Each NFT in the collection offers unique features, original artwork and detailed backstories about the iconic automobiles. These NFT pieces will sell for $20 per pack on the Flow Blockchain with the release of Fast X, the newest movie in the Fast & Furious Saga.
Similar to the recently launched Boss Beauty x Barbie collection, the Fast & Furious initiative offers collectors the chance to obtain a real die-cast replica of the Honda S2000 used by Suki (played by Devon Aoki) by collecting the full set of Hot Wheels collectibles.
βYouβll need to collect all 19 digital cars to get the lone physical redeemable car in the set,β read a statement from Mattel on its website.
This unique approach aims to bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds, allowing NFT holders to own tangible representations of the featured vehicles.
The feature drop includes four different rarities β common (three items per pack), uncommon (two items per pack), rare (up to one piece per pack) and super rare (up to one piece per pack).
Collectors who want to complete their digital card sets can buy, sell and trade in a secure virtual marketplace provided by Mattel.
Mattel is expanding its NFT market presence with recent partnerships and releases. The Fast and Furious collection is one of the three most recent NFT collections, along with Cryptoys’ Star Wars collectibles and Boss Beauties x Barbie collectibles.
In collaboration with OnChain Studios’ Cryptoys, Mattel announced plans to release a collection of Star Wars-themed digital collectibles that is due out on May 24. According to Cryptoys, the NFTs will cost $39.99 and will be minted on the Flow blockchain.
The Cryptoys Star Wars NFT collection features 15 unique “digital toys” inspired by beloved characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Darth Vader. These NFTs will be distributed in Star Wars-themed digital “holocrons,” representing data storage devices from the iconic sci-fi genre. Each holocron offers five distinct cartoonish skin styles. Fans can opt to purchase a “blind box,” making the character inside a mistery until it is opened.
Mattel also recently launched the Boss Beauties x Barbie collection, released partially on May 10, and then on May 18. It serves as a celebration of Barbie’s incredible milestone, as well as a tribute to women embracing their true selves and showcasing authenticity.
From an astronaut to an artist, the digital collectibles featured in these packs represent 13 out of Barbie’s extensive range of 250+ careers. They are available in various tiers, from common, uncommon, rare, super rare, ultra rare, to exclusive.
Owners of the Boss Beauties x Barbie virtual collectibles have exclusive access to “Career Conversations,” engaging discussions with real-life women professionals representing the showcased professions in the collection.
