FC Barcelona, in collaboration with Plastiks, has unveiled its latest entry in the world of NFTs with a new collection. Recognizing that over 8,000 kilograms of plastic waste are generated during a single football match, the club and Plastiks aim to mitigate this impact by curbing the plastic equivalent to that generated in four games.
The joint initiative seeks to address the global plastic crisis and promote environmental responsibility. FC Barcelona and Plastiks plan to recover a minimum of 1,000,000 kilograms of plastic, equivalent to 35,000,000 one-liter plastic bottles.
With a vast online following of more than 400 million across various social media platforms, FC Barcelona is leveraging its global influence to empower its community with sustainability solutions based on Web 3.0 technology.
By combining Barça’s NFT vision with a positive environmental impact, the club aims to drive waste reduction efforts.
The exclusive NFT collection, titled “Unleash Your Passion,” features 3,000 digitally designed animal-themed art pieces. Each NFT sold contributes to removing 35,000,000 kilograms of plastic from the planet.
Sustainability is one of the cornerstones of FC Barcelona’s 2021-2026 Strategic Plan. The club is committed to promoting sustainable development across its various domains.
Purchasers of the NFTs will enjoy unique advantages and immersive experiences linked to the world of FC Barcelona. Besides owning an exclusive piece of digital art created through the joint efforts of FC Barcelona and Plastiks, the NFT owners also express their support for environmental initiatives through their ownership.
They also will gain access to rewards and benefits such as limited edition content and a chance to win one of ten shirts autographed by members of FC Barcelona’s men’s first team.
To acquire the Animal-themed digital cards from the Unleash Your Passion collection, fans can visit the Plastiks marketplace, a platform specializing in sustainability-related digital articles. Each NFT is priced at $30, making the collection accessible to a wide range of supporters.

The auction of the piece featured the one-of-a-kind animated edition of “In a Way, Immortal,” as well as four additional NFTs, each containing a still image from the animated version, showcasing a significant moment from the unforgettable goal.
