This project will mark Ducati’s Web3 debut. The first collectible, scheduled for July 26, is a tribute video on the history of Ducati logos on motorbike tanks produced since 1946. The following NFTs will serve as a celebration of Ducati’s heritage and future.
Users must sign up within seven days of the launch date. As with typical NFT drops, those who purchase the first collectible will gain access to future project releases.
The project’s primary goal is to expand the scope of the Ducati Museum, located in Bologna, Italy, by joining the digital realm. Ducati revealed its involvement in the Web3 space in July 2022 as a part of a digital strategy aimed at appealing to a younger generation of fans.
Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali said that the entrance to Web3 could extend the number of services offered to Ducastiti — the fan community of the motorcycle brand.
“It also represents an opportunity to meet and make ourselves known to a new community of NFT enthusiasts,” said Domenicali.
NFT PRO CEO Christian Ferri expressed excitement about collaborating with an iconic brand like Ducati. Ferri said he felt like a “kid in a candy store.”
“We’re extremely proud to be a critical part of Ducati’s NFT launch and look forward to creating more cool projects for their fans to engage with,” said Ferri.
Ducati will launch an official Twitter profile to update everyone on the digital collectible project and the release dates.
Porsche was among the first car manufacturers to explore the NFT space with their “Fanzone” collection. It features five unique designs displaying iconic Porsche models like the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, the 917 Concept and the 919 Hybrid. The NFTs were created in collaboration with artist Karan Singh and were sold on the SuperRare platform.
Meanwhile, Lamborghini launched the “Lamborghini: The Legend” NFT collection in partnership with digital art platform Bitstamps. The collection includes 20 NFTs, each representing iconic Lamborghini models, from the Miura to the Aventador SVJ.
On June 16, Lotus Cars revealed plans to enter the NFT sector. The company announced that it would also collaborate with NFT PRO and Ripple for its inaugural NFT collection, with Ripple offering technical support on the XRPL.
According to Lotus’ press release, the collaboration with NFT PRO aims to offer a new experience for Lotus customers, NFT collectors and crypto fans.
The Lotus NFTs are part of Lotus Advanced Performance’s innovative projects, a division launched earlier in the year. Each NFT in the collection is a creation of Lotus Design, paying “tribute to the pioneering spirit of the iconic performance car brand.”
The NFT and metaverse segments in the Automotive Market are projected to record a compound annual growth rate of 40.50 percent from 2022 to 2028, with Asia Pacific being the fastest-growing region. In 2021, North America held the most prominent share of the market.
