DJ Agoria enters digital world with The Sandbox

DJ Sébastien “Agoria” Devaud has partnered with The Sandbox to expand his presence in the digital world. Other than making music and producing records, Agoria also creates digital art, with his most well-known creations being the science-based BioGenArt.

Short for “Bio-Generated Art,” BioGenArt refers to the creation of artistic works using biological materials, processes or technologies. It combines art and biology to produce unique visual, auditory or interactive art forms.

The AGORIANS Avatar Collection, featured on The Sandbox’s official HeyMint page, is described as “the first-ever Web3 avatar collection that brings the deeper meaning of duality to life through dynamic appearances.” Every six hours, these avatars undergo a transformation, adapting to either daytime or nighttime, bringing the theme of duality to life.

These virtual characters also stand up for LGBTQ+ and minority groups. They have different colors and skin tones, including rainbow PRIDE colors.

Agoria hopes his avatars can encourage people to try new things in this new digital world. The collection will come alive with quests and rewards, offering more than 100,000 SAND tokens.

Recently, Agoria told NFT newsletter nft now about how they started working together for this collaboration, saying that “Sebastien Borget, the co-founder, started to collect my pieces on SuperRare and Foundation in 2021. With his partner Arthur they invited me to play for the Sandbox shows at NFC Lisbon and Cannes Film Festival – we had so much fun!”

Agoria said that Bertrand Levy, the CEO of The Sandbox, liked the idea of blending art, science, music and fun in the metaverse and approved it.

He also talked about the avatars’ changing nature in the collaboration and the inspiration behind it, which is him being a night bird.

“What I realized is that we have many personalities but the night one is the closest to your true self,” he said.

He said that during nighttime, it feels easier to show your real self without barriers. This is why Agoria chose to have his avatars in The Sandbox represent this idea, with the avatars being like the other side of a person’s nature.

Agoria’s vision for One Life Two Bodies

Agoria explained that when he was developing the concept of One Life Two Bodies, which questions the distinction between real and virtual, The Sandbox introduced him to a scriptwriter named Julien Carbon.

He expressed his desire to create a game that couldn’t exist in the physical world, aiming to bring together the body and the mind, as well as the physical and digital worlds. He added that they came up with the mandala concept to shape the entire experience.

Agoria shared his enjoyment of the daily collaboration, highlighting that creativity involves being surrounded by and inspired by brilliant minds.

He mentioned that although he’s new to connecting the physical and digital worlds, he’s enthusiastic about it. He’s excited about the quests and prizes, which will give users real-world rewards like VIP access to his shows and exclusive entry to his upcoming BioGenArt exhibitions.
